Look.what.just.arrived. Wow. I am all smiles after meeting Cynthia Golonka from Capitol Cupcakes and I am so very excited to sample these beautiful cupcakes!
Cynthia’s home based business (in Central Vermont) started with encouragement from her family and friends. Her creativity is endless, her ideas are unique and her cupcakes are fabulous!
Let me introduce you to one of my new favorite desserts: Cynthia’s Chocolate Mounds Cupcake. She sent me four and I ate all four. The chocolate cupcake was rich and topped with frosting that blew me away. It was sweet and flavorful and had a bit of texture from the toasted coconut. I wanted more. A lot more.
This Smores cupcake was a bit hit with my family. One taste testing family member remarked “I love a s’more ordinarily and was really anticipating it and I was not disappointed!” The graham cracker cupcake had a chocolate fudge filling. What a fun and tasty surprise. Cynthia tops this cupcake with homemade marshmallow. “I didn’t know that you could make marshmallow” I heard one taste tester say. Cynthia makes her own and it’s amazing. It’s very smooth, perfectly sweet, and it melted in my mouth.
When I first heard “Pink Lemonade Cupcake” I wasn’t sure what to think and had no idea what it would taste like. I have found another favorite! This pairing is really fun. The chocolate cupcake was light and airy and the frosting was tart and tangy. Together they work very well. Another taste tester put it like this: “Delicious. Pink lemonade was wake up in my mouth good, but a surprise!”.
Cynthia is using local ingredients too! She tells us: “I do try to use local whenever I can. My maple syrup comes directly from Morse Sugar Shack. I use King Arthur flour and cocoa. McKenzie bacon. Local eggs.”
