Have you eaten something sweet, creative, fun, and delicious today?
Green Mountain Mini Baked is back to host another giveaway and owner Debbie Mast was kind enough to send along a few donuts for us to taste test. By “us” I mean that I should have included my family and friends, but….
It might not be a surprise to those of you who know how much I love chocolate that the first donut I grabbed was the Fudge Brownie. It was incredibly rich and boasted a deep chocolate flavor. I loved this donut and wished that I had eleven more of them. What a treat!
The Apple Pie donut tasted like an updated classic cinnamon donut. It melted in my mouth! Debbie starts with apple cider from Cold Hollow Cider Mill and dips the donut in a sweet vanilla glaze. Pair with warm apple cider for the perfect snack!
Vermont.Beer.Donut I can think of 25 (or more) men who would be happy to receive a dozen of these mini donuts for their birthday, graduation, house warming, etc. Or maybe just for breakfast. Debbie uses Heady Topper IPA which is brewed in Waterbury. Heady Topper is well known and recently received a perfect score on beeradovcate.com.
Is your mouth watering yet? This Chocolate Covered Strawberry donut is a Green Mountain Mini Baked specialty and a wonderful combination. Topped with a chocolate glaze and strawberry buttercream this looks similar to a cupcake and packs a lot of flavor. What a treat!
This is a Maple Cream mini. Debbie writes: “This donut is Vermont in a nutshell!” It’s sweet, it’s mapley and it’s perfect. You can add a maple buttercream as well.
And now for my favorite donut from Green Mountain Baked: Lemon Love! I saved this one for last when I was taste testing because I knew that it would be my favorite, and it was/is! There is a bright and zesty lemon flavor that is both sweet and tart.
Debbie has many, many more flavors. Smores, Key Lime, Nutella, Root Beer, Cookies and Cream, Almond Joy, Butterfinger, Shirley Temple, and more! Contact her for a custom order or flavor.
You can find these amazing treats on Etsy, at the Cornerstone Pub and Brewery in Barre, and in the September issue of Vermont Vows. Request them at your local co-op and help spread the word about Green Mountain Mini Baked.
