Michelle Rawls own Satchelles in Pittsford, VT. She contacted me in hopes to work together to showcase her work and share a gift with one lucky Try Vermont First reader. Michelle makes beautiful and durable canvas bags. Each bag is hand made and can be personalized.
Michelle tells us:
“I have always loved the magic of color that fabric can provide. After years of searching for the “perfect bag” I decided to start making them myself. I always found that I could never find the right amount of pockets, strap length etc. I gave my first few creations away as gifts and got a very positive response. I always wanted to do something that would allow me to incorporate my business experience with the flexibility I needed to be the kind of involved parent that I desired to be….so with a great deal of love and support from my family Satchelles began February 14, 2012. My first year in business has produced close to 200 custom bags and I fall more in love with it each bag I make. I have also expanded to include accessories such as make up bags, wallets and more. This summer I added Jumping Jacks, a custom applique division where I do applique shirts (mostly for children) as well as personalized children’s bags-with many styles available. I just love the options available with customization and personalization! “
Each bag is a unique piece of art. Michelle has a great variety of fabrics from bright and bold to whimsical and fun to classic and sophisticated. Her bags come in many sizes and she is willing to work with customers on custom items as well.
“All items are handmade in my home studio in Pittsford, VT. We are a pet free/smoke free home so allergies should not be an issue with any products.”
