I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For BEN AND JERRY’S!

This giveaway is now over. Please enjoy reading our reviews!

I have a feeling this is going to be a very popular blog post. 🙂

Tonight my husband asked what I was going to write for this post “because everyone already knows how great Ben & Jerry’s is!”.

Well dear husband, and readers, I will tell you how great Ben and Jerry’s is and give you a chance to win ice cream to try for yourself!

Here are a few great things to know about Ben & Jerry’s:

*They have over 40 flavors of delicious ice cream, low fat frozen yogurt, and Greek frozen yogurt.

*Taking a tour of the Ben & Jerry’s factory in Waterbury is fun, informative, and affordable. Just $4 for adults and kids 12 & under are free. Tours are not just for tourists! My kids and I are lucky to live close to the factory so we take tours all the time. We watch a short movie on the history of Ben and Jerry’s, visit the production line, and then get a yummy sample.  Show off this sweet spot to your friends and family.

*Ben and Jerry’s has gone from an old Burlington gas station to a worldwide known name. I once lived in Guam and am happy to report that I was able to enjoy my favorite ice cream there too.

*The Ben and Jerry’s Winterfest is coming up on Saturday, March 2nd from 11-4 and I highly recommend that you attend this event. It’s a TON of fun for kids and adults. Snow fun, arts, crafts, and of course ice cream samples. Here is a picture from Winterfest a few years ago:

*Love Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough? You will also love that the cookie dough is made in Vermont at Rhino Foods. I think that a separate blog post is needed for this company!

*Ben and Jerry’s works with over 500 Vermont family farms. Read more from their website: “We are proud to source our dairy from the St. Albans Coop, a farmer-owned cooperative located in Franklin County, Vermont. The Coop has been a long-term partner with Ben & Jerry’s, providing us the dairy we use to make our delicious product and whose farmers are dedicated to keeping Vermont a part of the valuable working landscape. A group of these farmers voluntarily choose to participate in Ben & Jerry’s Sustainable Dairy program known as “Caring Dairy.” Caring Dairy identifies 11 indicators of sustainable dairy farming that include: Animal Husbandry, Soil Fertility and Health, Soli Loss, Nutrients, Pest Management, Biodiversity, Farm Economics, Energy, Water, Social Human Capital and Impact on Local Economy. The program offers farmers a practical framework for understanding, evaluating, and continuously improving the sustainability of their dairy operations based on economic, social and environmental criteria. We believe that a farm that operates in a balance of “Happy Planet, Happy Farmer, Happy Cow” provides a scenario that benefits all aspects of dairy farming.

*You can find Ben and Jerry’s scoop shops in over 30 states, throughout Canada, and as far South as Puerto Rico.

*Hundreds of Vermonters call Ben and Jerry’s their second home and a great place to work.

Above are two of my favorite Ben and Jerry’s flavors. How do I say this nicely about myself… I am obsessed with ice cream. Maybe addicted is a better word. I do enjoy a small bowl of ice cream most nights of the week (7 of 7?). Ben and Jerry’s Fro Yo and Greek Frozen Yogurts are guilt free ways to enjoy a sweet treat. They are just as rich, smooth, creamy, and packed with flavor as their cousin ice cream but have much less that will stick to your hips.

Now a few words about these ice cream favorites:

Strawberry Cheesecake is my all time favorite ice cream. I love the sweet graham cracker swirl. Top with hot fudge to make it perfect!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough delivers sweet chunky dough in each bite, set in the world’s best vanilla ice cream.

Vanilla Caramel fudge is a very smooth ice cream. The two swirled toppings are a deliciously sweet combination.

Phish Food offers something for everyone. Rich chocolate ice cream with marshmallow and caramel swirls and big chocolate fudge fish. Yum!

Read more about Ben and Jerry’s newest flavor Liz Lemon Greek frozen yogurt which will be in stores this spring. With lavender and a blueberry swirl this sounds like a new ice cream to add to my grocery list.

Ben and Jerry’s is hosting a great giveaway for Try Vermont First readers. Three winners will each receive three pint certificates and a pint cozy! Lucky readers! {This giveaway is now closed!}

Yum, enjoy!

  1. My favorite, hands down, continues to be Cherry Garcia. I do allow myself the luxury of trying the other flavors on occasion. I am really looking forward to Liz Lemon!

  3. New York Super Fudge Chunk is my all-time favorite! Nuts & chocolate in every bite!! SOOOO Good! When I lived in Colorado, I made sure to stop in the B&J’s in Boulder on Pearl Street as often as humanly possible!
